Please be advised that the erroneous email address in this post has been changed to the correct one. (Feb. 13, 2007)
The first Change and Variation in Canada / Changement et Variation au Canada (CVC) Conference will take place at the University of Toronto, on the St. George campus, May 4-6, 2007. The objective of the conference is to bring together researchers and students who are either 1) working on variation and change in a language variety spoken in Canada, or 2) working on language variation and change at a Canadian institution. Priority will be given to submissions on topics that involve quantitative analyses, with a focus on research carried out within an empirical framework that shows a structurally informed analysis. Papers will be permitted 20 minutes each, with a 10 minute question period immediately following. We particularly encourage students to submit abstracts.
The format provided below is required for all submissions. Abstracts will only be accepted via email in .pdf format (please embed any special characters). Please limit the length of the abstract to a maximum of 500 words (excluding references and title). Abstract submissions are due by March 1, 2007. Late submissions will not be considered.
Send submissions to: cvcling@chass.utoronto.ca
Inquiries and general questions will also be handled through the above email address. Further information about accommodation, etc. can be found at the following internet blog site:
